Client Meeting Savvy: Pertinent Protocol for Pampering Potential Partners
- As a practice, do you ask potential clients out for breakfast, lunch or coffee to get to know them better?
- Do you jot down notes as you are speaking about their spouse, children, hobbies, upcoming travel? community networking?
- Do you start your relationship by asking clients how you can help THEM be successful, solve a problem, make a connection, find resources?
- Do you explore cross-promotional opportunities or likely business synergy for them?
- Mute your phone and listen with eye contact?
- Share information about yourself, your likes, hopes, frustrations, passions, plans?
- Do you bring them a pen or post-it note, something to help them remember you later?
- Do you always thank them for their time and let them know how much you appreciate the conversation?
- Do you follow up with a quick ‘thank you’ email and an article, white paper, blog resource, quote, newspaper or magazine article or email introduction to continue the relationship?
Make this a part of your meetings and watch your meetings and networking take on a new energy, purpose and momentum.
